A runner's highs... and lows. From personal struggle to the global stage - with Miah Noble.

1st September, 2025

In the world of endurance sports, we are often captivated by the physical feats of athletes—their speed, their strength, their unwavering determination. But the true measure of a champion lies not just in their physical prowess, but in the story of resilience and courage that forged them. I recently had the incredible privilege of sitting down with Miah Noble, a rising star in the world of Australian trail running. Just 20-years-old, her journey is already a powerful testament to the fact that the greatest victories are often won not on the trail, but within the soul.

Finding Purpose on the Trail

Miah's path has been anything but easy. She openly shared the difficult road she has run, battling with anorexia and the "busy mind" that left her feeling isolated and alone. For a time, her drive became a double-edged sword, a force that both pushed her to achieve, but also held her captive to a debilitating struggle. But Miah's story is one of profound transformation.

On this episode she shares with me how her journey to a healthier relationship with herself began with a loving plea from her grandfather and a stark warning from her doctor. It was in these pivotal moments that she started to re-evaluate her relationship with food and her body, a journey that led her to find solace and healing in the world of trail running. With the unwavering support of her partner, a sports dietitian, and a running coach, Miah found a new way to move through her pain and channel her inner strength.

From Struggle to Strength

Miah's story is an inspiring reminder that our greatest challenges can become our most profound catalysts for growth. She is a living example of what it means to be a mental health advocate and a role model. Her raw honesty about her struggles with anorexia, ADHD, and OCD is a beacon of hope for young people facing similar battles. By sharing her journey, she is not just running for herself; she is running for a generation, showing them that it is possible to find healing and purpose, and to turn adversity into a source of strength.

As she prepares for the World Mountain Trail and Running Championships in Spain, on September 26th, Miah is not just training for a race; she is living a testimony. Her story of healing, resilience, and hope is a powerful force for good, a testament to the idea that by overcoming our own personal mountains, we can inspire others to climb theirs. Miah Noble is not just a trail runner; she is a trailblazer, a champion for courage, and an inspiration to us all.
